The Victorian Women's Teams departs Melbourne tomorrow to compete in the 2012 National Women's Baseball Championships
This year's tournament will again be hosted by the ACT Baseball Association with games being played at the Narrabundah Baseball Complex between 7 and 14h April 2012.
States participating in this year tournament will comprise of Victorian, NSW, Western Australia, Queensland, Country NSW, NT and the hosts ACT.
Returning as Head Coach Dean Anglin will be assisted by Jade Hough and Australian Assistant Coach, Simone Wearne.
The team consists of ten players from last year's championship team and six new faces.The returning members include Ursula Howard, Cat Row and Amy Collins, plus Australian Squad members Erin Collins, Leslie Anglin, Sam Hamilton, Sinead Flanigan, Amy McCann, Bronwyn Gell and Shae Lillywhite; while the new team members are Abbey McLellan, Hannah Jackson, Belinda Cannington, Jess Johnson, Sophie Binks and Canadian national player Autumn Mills.
"The team shows great promise to go back-to-back," said Baseball Victoria CEO Brett Hidson. "With a core group of players returning from last year's championships side - that includes seven Australian players - we will be a tough side to beat," Hidson added.
Baseball Victoria extends its best wishes to the squad for an enjoyable and successful series.
