Mark Le Grew (MWBL), Sunday, 15 April 2012 The MWBL will be holding Introduction to Junior Baseball Coaching clinics for new to junior coaching or new to junior baseball members this April. Three locations and dates are available in April. As announced at the last MWBL delegates meeting, the MWBL has confirmed with Baseball Victoria the dates and venues for our Junior Coaches Seminars.
The intention of these seminars is to give 'new to coaching' (playing experience with little to no coaching experience) or even 'new to baseball' (for example parents coaching) individuals who would benefit from a formal program that will provide a basis for offering junior players correct baseball techniques as well as offering coaches game management skills.
The clinic will run for approx 3 hours, with the session broken into 2/3 dedicated to practical baseball fundamentals and 1/3 dedicated to theory game management.
Places will be limited, so if we have more attendees nominated than available places, we will need to allocate places as per number of junior teams nominated by each clubs. We would recommend that nominees are club members that will be either coaching junior teams this season or have a strong involvement in junior baseball at your club.
The dates and venues are as follows;
- Knox Baseball Club - Tuesday 24th April
- Latrobe Uni BC - Wednesday 25th April
- Doncaster BC - Thursday 26th April.
Starting time - 7.00pm onwards (approx 3 hours duration).
Cost - Free of Charge to attendees from MWBL clubs / $20 for attendees from non-MWBL clubs.

This is a fantastic initiative from both Baseball Victoria and the MWBL Junior Committee's, and we hope all clubs with junior teams will have current junior coaches attend and receive a formal introduction to junior coaching.
