The First Nine have cemented a finals position with recent wins over Blackburn and Preston, and with 4 games to go only need a win or two to secure top place in the Eastern Conference. The Fourth Nine will need to win their last two games to secure a finals position. The Masters A team will finish in second position and earn a home semi final in a couple of weeks time.
Division 1 Round 23 - Melbourne 6 defeated Blackburn 2

Division 1 Round 24 - Melbourne 6 defeated Preston 2
Adam Pahos got the start and with good run support was able to get the win over Preston, Ryan Pahos in his first Nine debut making a diving catch at RF and getting a hit as well. Matt Blackmore closed out the game in the seventh for the 6-2 win.
Division 1 Fourths - Blackburn 4 defeated Melbourne 3
A battle for finals position for both teams meant a tight game - and it was a pitchers duel most of the game with Cooper Gerwing blanking the Blackburn offence for only 2 hits over his 5 digs, Melbourne scrambled a run to lead 1-0 going into the 6th, but a grouped of bunched hits allowed Blackburn to get away, Enoch Shen closed out the game well not conceding a further run but we were unable to get the tying run over the plate in the last innings, stranding the tying run at third. Hits were hard to come by against a quality Blackburn pitcher - Hudson Gerwing with a double, Robbie Materia, Murray Noble and Andrew Williams with the other hits. All in all a good game that shows we can match it with one of the better teams. A couple of wins will secure a finals position so we have it all to play for.
