Campbell stood tall in his one innings of relief for the Melbourne Aces on Sunday, facing a rampant Adelaide Bite offense which amassed 15 hits and 13 runs against the Aces. Campbell did well throwing one inning of relief for 1 hit, no runs and 2 strike-outs.
From the Aces website:
"A positive note for Melbourne came in the seventh inning when right-handed reliever Campbell Wiggins came into the game and stemmed the runs. It was his first professional game for the 21 year-old, and showed plenty of poise on the mound despite the tough situation, throwing a solid inning and striking out 2."
On his debut, Wiggins said, "I wasn't nervous as much as what I thought I would be. I pretty much went out there and tried to throw as many strikes as I could; I wanted to do a good job for my team and my coaches because they gave me this awesome chance. [This] gives me more confidence to go out again."
