1908 – MCC goes back-to-back

Another strong season followed the premiership in 1907, with the MCC going through the 1908 season undefeated and they were unchallenged for the pennant. The Melbourne players gave a splendid exhibition of baseball throughout, and proved a strong, even team, scoring 206 runs for the season, as against 45. Scott was in command on the mound all season, and he formed an excellent battery with Wiseman who was rewarded with selection in the Australian team to play the American fleet along with Vernon Ransford and Walter Ingleton.
